ISI School Inspection Report: Tockington Manor School 3-5 March 2026

A Report that Reflects our School Values

The report observes that our pupils are “curious and self-motivated learners” who “articulate their ideas eloquently and listen attentively”. It also notes that our curriculum is “thoughtfully designed to ensure that pupils develop appropriate skills and knowledge”. Regarding our school culture, the report states that “Positive relationships with staff reassure pupils that any concerns raised will be quickly addressed”.

Key Quotes from the Report

The ISI commended the School in all categories, most notably:

  • Leadership: “Leaders create a caring environment which encourages pupils to be relaxed and happy.”
  • Education: “Teachers’ expert subject knowledge, high expectations and use of motivating activities engage pupils’ interest. Pupils make good progress. They are independent and focused learners who participate in class discussions with considered responses.”
  • Pupils’ Physical and Mental Health: “Certificates for politeness, sportsmanship assemblies and an emphasis on kindness starting from Nursery help to establish a culture of considerate behavior. Pupils are courteous, well-behaved and considerate of others’ needs.”
  • Pupils’ Social and Economic Education: “A range of leadership roles helps pupils to understand their wider responsibilities to others. Pupils respond maturely to the roles entrusted to them, including as drama captains and heads of sport. Older pupils act as effective role models, reading with children in the early years and helping to coach younger pupils in netball.”
  • Safeguarding: “Pupils develop a clear understanding of how to keep themselves safe online, both in school and at home. They explain confidently how to change settings to protect their privacy and understand the importance of parental controls. Regular online safety assemblies help to raise pupils’ awareness of the potential risks associated with internet use.
