Maths Aces Triumph for TMS

Four Tockington pupils have done the school proud, beating 15 other teams to win this year’s Clifton College Year 6 Primary Maths Challenge.

Held at Clifton College, the annual Maths quiz saw 13 Primary and Prep Schools gathered at the Bristol school for the event. Teams compete in four rounds and TMS excelled in all of them: the group round, cross number, shuttle, and relay. They faced tough competition from other local prep schools, including Clifton High, Clifton College, Dean Close, Collegiate, Redmaids’, QEH, Westonbirt and many more. Despite this, Tockington Manor School came out on top and emerged as the winners of the challenge!

Dudu, Bella, Patrick and Hugh used not only their mathematical ability but worked together extremely well to solve problems. It was a day of communication, collaboration and demonstrating their grasp of mathematical concepts. Well done – we are all extremely proud of you!

Tockington regularly takes part in Bristol Schools Maths Challenges and Head of Maths, Mrs Davis says this an important part of the children’s overall experience of the Tockington Maths curriculum. “Our Maths Mastery approach creates an enriching learning environment where children are excited and engaged in Mathematics. This develops essential problem-solving skills that not only deepen their mathematical understanding but also prepare them for future challenges.”
